1 review for Philips 4300 Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with LatteGo

  1. Jack

I’ve been testing the Philips 4300 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machines for several days and I’m really more than happy with it.
This tactile machine, with a very classy appearance, is complete and very easy to handle. Although the manual is quite thick, the use remains intuitive and very simple. The settings are few and sufficient to have a very good coffee. So far, this machine is easy to clean.
The coffee grounds come out completely dry, which facilitates evacuation when necessary. No risk of leakage with water that could escape.
This machine offers the possibility of making 8 different drinks + frothed milk and simply having hot water. A “LatteGo” milk jug is associated with the machine to create these different drinks. The system is able to memorize the taste preferences according to the type of drink chosen and the person who will taste it and this is a real time saver when you want to have the same drink. 2 profiles (one green and one blue) can be saved and a guest profile also exists.
It is also pleasant to be able to follow the preparation live on the screen and to have a warm message telling us “good tasting”.
Although this machine is a real pleasure to use, I noticed a few negative points that would be good to improve and rectify.
First of all, the coffee bean container lid is clumsy and could do with a hinge. Regarding this tank, a small graduated wheel from 1 to 12 is present and concerns the grinding of coffee, but no information on this subject is present in the manual. It would have been good to let us know what this was for and if the strength of the coffee would be changed or not. To finish with the top of the machine, it is unfortunate to note that the cover for putting ground coffee is found wet due to the condensation created when creating a drink.
Then there is a problem with the LatteGo pot where the drawn inscriptions are really illegible. It would be good to put them in white. And the water level in the tank is not very readable either.
The socket on the back of the machine is not well thought out. It would have been good to put the cable to the left or to the right or to the bottom, and not to the top as is currently the case.
Finally, there are spelling errors in the inscriptions that scroll across the screen:
    – when initializing the machine and installing the AquaClean filter, it says “got coffee” instead of “taste coffee”
    – in the settings -> product counters -> “emulsified” milk instead of frothed milk.
    – for the grounds container, there is a translation error because when it is full, it is written on the screen: grounds container empty.

Although I have noted these small problems which in no way prevent the machine from working, I am very happy with this intuitive and very easy-to-use coffee machine which makes my life easier. It is also very nice to be able to change drinks and always find them as I had set them. I am happy with this machine and obviously recommend it for anyone who wants simplicity and above all quality.
